Grand Canyon Historical Society has sponsored gatherings of professional and avocational historians who study topics specific to Grand Canyon history. The goals of each symposium are to increase the knowledge and understanding of the history pertaining to the Grand Canyon and surrounding region, and to promote communication and sharing among Grand Canyon historians, writers, and enthusiasts.

Presentations are made by selected speakers who have conducted research in a wide range of subjects, including: Native American history, exploration of the Canyon and plateau country, art history, prospecting and mining, the Colorado River, Grand Canyon Village, roads and trails, the National Park Service, and many others.

Visit the individual symposium pages to see what presentations and activities contributed to their success and to read the papers that were published.
