Shane Murphy led Grand Canyon river trips for twenty years, was an early president of Grand Canyon River Guides, and wrote Ammo Can Interp, an interpretive guidebook to Grand Canyon boating. His other books include Shackleton’s Photographer and South With Endurance. Murphy is best known for his definitive work, John Hance: The Life, Lies and Legend of Grand Canyon’s Greatest Storyteller recently published by the University of Utah Press. He lives in Rimrock, Arizona.
