For more than 17 years, the United States Bureau of Reclamation managed Page, Arizona, as a work camp for the building of Glen Canyon Dam. On March 1, 1975, the Bureau turned the keys over to local city government and the youngest town in Arizona began making its own decisions. Page is celebrating 50 years as a city this year. We’ll look back on the early days when both the dam and the town were built from the bottom up. We’ll recall the early history of environmental concerns for Grand Canyon National Park.

Presenter Bio: Cindy Stafford worked as a seasonal ranger for Glen Canyon National Recreation area and now volunteers in the museum collection and visitor services. She and her husband Kern Nuttall enjoy exploring their surrounding landscape and digging through historic archives. They live in Page.
