The Arizona Historical Society (AHS) is Arizona's oldest cultural organization, founded by the territorial legislature on November 7, 1864 . . . charged with preserving Arizona history for the present and future.
Boulder City Museum and Historical Association
The purpose of collection activities for the Boulder City Museum and Historical Association is to (1) acquire, research, and preserve materials concerning the history and development of Boulder City, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and the Lower Colorado River region; as well as materials representing the historical period 1920 - 1945; (2) to make such materials available for study; and, (3) create themed exhibits of community interest.

The story of the Orphan Mine operated from 1953 to 1969 (located at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona) written and compiled by a mining engineer, Maurice Castagne, P.E., who worked 11 years as mine superintendent, and manager of the Orphan Mine.
