Mike Quinn



The Grand Canyon Pioneers Society Pioneer Award for 2007 was presented to Mike Quinn for:
  • his expertise in digitizing, accessing, and archiving Grand Canyon historical photographs from local collections and other sources around the country for the permanent collections at Grand Canyon National Park;
  • serving as a photo archivist at Grand Canyon National Park to help answer researcher’s questions on cultural subjects or persons through digital historical photos;
  • his assistance in documenting the historical changes at Grand Canyon Village, Tusayan, Phantom Ranch, Desert View, and the North Rim as well as trails, archaeological sites, and flash floods;
  • maintaining the Grand Canyon National Park website, answering emails, and providing additional research resources; and
  • his personal contributions to the cultural history of Grand Canyon municipalities through videos such as “Tusayan Forever,” Fred Harvey training films, 4th of July celebrations and other local cultural celebrations at Grand Canyon.
