2007 Grand Canyon History Symposium

Patrick Lauzon
Pat was born in 1948 in Williams. His father Hubert Fancis Lauzon had been out of the Army for about 3 years. Pat lived in several areas in and around the Grand Canyon depending on Hubert's employment status at the time. His first place that he lived was at the old Tusayan Shell Station and Tusayan bar, located just outside the Grand Canyon Village. Hubert ran the Shell Station for Bob Thurston. The family then moved into tent city when Hubert went to work for Fred Harvey as a mechanic. Later he moved to the park area when he went to work for the NPS. Pat left Grand Canyon in 1963 to finish high school in Page, Arizona. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy and served approximately four years. After returning to Page, he went to work as a heavy equipment operator for 12 years in and around northern Arizona. In 1981, Pat incorporated Northern Arizona Wind & Sun, and started selling and installing renewable energy systems in Arizona, new Mexico, and California. He has his business in Flagstaff where he has been since 1981.
